Tap Project Wall in the Midnight Mug

Hi everyone,

We hope you all had a great Easter break and are ready to finish this semester strong! As many of you have noticed, during March UNICEF-Georgetown had a wall in the Midnight Mug dedicated to the world water crisis and the Tap Project. The display had information about the crisis - that 900 million people lack access to clean water and that half of that number are children - as well as what we could do to help alleviate the suffering caused by this problem - texting "TAP" to the number UNICEF and donating $5, and also donating $1 for a glass of water at restaurants participating in Tap.

A big THANK YOU goes out to Phoebe, UNICEF-GU's marketing chair, and her committee - Victoria and Nastasia - for designing and putting together this display!

World Water Week Photos!

Hi everyone,

This year World Water Week ran from March 21 to 27, and during this time we had a Tap Project wall in the Midnight Mug, planted 1000 blue and white flags on Copley Lawn, and recruited several local restaurants to participate in the Tap Project by asking customers to donate $1 for the water that they would normally get for free. We at UNICEF-Georgetown would like to thank all of you for helping us make this week and our involvement in Tap such a success. Most importantly, we would like to thank you for helping save children's lives.

Special thanks to Andrew, UNICEF-GU's Special Events chair, and his committee - Katie, Rui, and Pauline - for organizing UNICEF-GU's participation in World Water Week and Tap!

Below are photos of our activities during World Water Week. Thank you UNICEF-GU board members for sharing these!
